He and his team of dental professionals are the only ones to regularly evaluate your oral health and to notice any potential abnormalities. Gain the peace of mind that comes with a regular oral cancer screening from Dr. Chiles. With the help of the latest dental technology, even a diagnosis of oral cancer can be successfully treated through early detection.

Dental Cleaning

This appointment is performed by a dental hygienist. The hygienist will remove plaque (soft deposits), tartar or calculus (hard deposits), and stain from your teeth. The evaluation of the gum tissue, probing pockets and recording their depths for future reference will also be completed. After the cleaning, the hygienist will polish your teeth to a beautiful shine.

Additionally, you will have all of your questions answered about your homecare procedures and products. If you have trouble choosing the right toothbrush or flossing effectively, your hygienist can help. Should you develop gum disease, which is extremely common; our hygienist will provide counsel and treatment to control the condition.

Restorative Dentistry

When your smile is damaged, restorative dentistry can renew your health and preserve the look of your smile.

Sealants

Dental sealants are plastic coatings or barriers that protect the teeth against decay-causing bacteria. Usually, sealants are applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often. Applying a sealant to your teeth can prevent cavities and the need for fillings, which must be replaced every six to eight years. Children especially benefit from sealants.

TMJ Treatment

One of the advantages of visiting Dr.Chiles’ office is that we can often diagnose and correct problems that you may not even consider being related to dentistry. Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder can cause headaches, neck aches and backaches, stuffiness or pain in the ears, and dizziness or fainting, but rarely does the typical patient think to consult their dentist when suffering from any of these symptoms. Frequently, TMJ sufferers mistakenly believe that they have an ear infection. We have provided safe and effective TMJ treatment for patients throughout Central Illinois.

Night Guards

Many individuals clinch or grind their teeth in their sleep. Not only does this cause damage to teeth, but also it can lead to headaches, tension in the neck and shoulders, and even snoring or difficulty breathing. A night guard is a flexible mouthpiece, customized by Dr. Chiles, which protects your teeth and jaw while you sleep and which gives you relief during the following day.

Oral Hygiene

Most of the conditions that negatively affect your smile can be avoided with regular care. Dr. Chiles and his team are committed to answering your questions about proper hygiene and providing you with the most advanced preventive dentistry.

Fillings

When the decay has been taken out of the tooth, it is replaced with “filling” material. In the past, amalgam (silver) fillings were placed into the cleaned out portion of the tooth. With advancements in dentistry Dr. Chiles gives you tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings resulting in a brighter, whiter smile.

Extractions

Every effort is made to keep all your teeth, as this is always the best and preferred solution. In the instance where a tooth cannot be saved, it may be recommended to extract the tooth. In most cases, Dr. Chiles can comfortably perform the procedure right here in the office.

Dentures

It is important to address missing teeth for several reasons. Your ability to speak correctly and to chew the foods you love goes a long way in ensuring your self-confidence. Keeping your natural tooth function helps prevent the breakdown of the bone and other supportive structures of your jaw. Dentures from Dr. Chiles are designed to look natural and to fit perfectly, helping you to look and feel your best.
